Field Guide to Community Composting

Community composting is where a community gets together to set up their own composting scheme, putting their food scraps and household waste in shared composting bins which can then be re-used locally.

It has happened right here in the Meadows, when a group of local residents wanted to address local food waste. Since 2021, the idea became a reality, with over 70 households now disposing of their food waste in two community composting bins.

Wondering if a similar project could happen in your area?
